    When?

Do you have a favorite time of the month to hit the casino?

My favorite time of year, is right at tax time. Idk why I seem to hit more, however, this year was a total bust.

As far as monthly , though, we are still trying to figure out why we do better either the last day or first day. Seriously thinking of limiting our time there to just those days . I go once a week, Sunday afternoon, and he goes both Saturday and Sunday. Imagine all the money we could save up for one trip.

Its a crazy world out there. Pandemic related or not.

We pass a perfectly fine casino, who does not even open until noon. Rumor has it , they and all of them really, can't find employees. I know they are loosing money. Mine for one.

The casino I visit, has not had any promotions to speak of. Those that happen, are what I consider the middle of the night. I mean come on, we are daytime gamblers. We used to qualify to senior days, ladies day, mens day, tournaments, drawings, free rooms, free food. Now we get a little free play. That's it. No other reason to visit. So yes, I didn't mean to turn this into a rant, we are looking to limit our losses.

I know what you mean. I usually do better around the end of the month and the first of the month. I also have done well around the 15th of the month. I think it maybe because more people get paid at the first of the month and the middle of the month so more people are playing.
I also agree about promotions. Last month at Hard Rock Tulsa I was offered good gifts and free play. This month I have to pay for my gifts. I have to put 30 points on my card in order to get my gift. At Hard Rock it takes $10 to get 1 point. So, I would have to spend $300 to get a gift that is worth maybe $30. I guess they think I fell off the turnip truck.
I miss how the machines were before the virus.
You play Oklahoma Casinos dont you?
    Good luck.

Yes in Ok, Kay County, right on the KS/Ok state line. First Council Casino, Otoe Missouri Tribe, sends flyers for gifts to be picked up on Tues or Thurs, only. Those go in trash. I don't go on those days and I have no need for anything kitchen related.

Seriously thinking of cutting back to one day a month.

I used to like to go on weekends but now it's always way too crowded. I hate not being able to play what I want. Now I settle for Thursday nights but can't seem to win much. I feel like I need to cut back too. I would like to try to save up and start going on more junket trips but my husband can't get off as much as I can so we will see. I'm not going any more this month...gonna wait til next month for our anniversary and hubby's birthday trip.

    JJ,
Do you like the First Council Casino? I have never been to that Casino. I want to go to some different Casinos. Riverspirit and Hard Rock Tulsa are my locals and this year has been a bust for me so far. In 2019 I did so good at both Casinos. Last year when Riverspirit reopened due to the virus they did a software update on their machines and the machines have not been in a good mood since. They closed the Casino for 12 hours in order to do the software update.
Have you ever been to Kansas Star Casino? I get emails from them but I have never been. I would like to give them a try.

    Lady Luck,
I used to like going on the weekends too but like you said it is so crowded early on the weekend so now I wait until about 10pm or later. I am not crazy about big crowds. I want to play my favorite machines and it is hard to do when it is so crowded.
    Where do you play?
    Good luck everyone.

The crowds are still too much for me even after 10. It seems like they never sleep lol. I normally play in Broken Bow and Grant Oklahoma. I haven't been to Winstar this year yet but once in awhile I go there. Grant has a nice slot floor and nice rooms. We usually get comped at their Chili's restaurant. You should try it out. It's bigger than Pocola but not as big as Durant.

Yes, I have been to Kansas Star, but not in the last two years or so. That is one crowded place . Table games are always hopping.

First Council is the Nicest Kay County offers. I dislike that progressive games are taking over the floor, but, usually can find favorites to fill my time. I used to get free rooms with include admission to water park, so it was also a favorite with the Grands. I don't know if we will ever get that back. The rooms are nice. There is a coffee place in the lobby of the hotel, also a restaurant, best spaghetti with meatballs, and good pizza. In the water park is a snack bar and Ice Cream shop. Inside the Casino, is a snack bar, and another restaurant.

We have been over to Hard Rock several times. Not lately. Took a trip just before Christmas and traveled to Miami , horrible pays, and downstream. Love that place. We have not visited any along the southern boarder. I am working on convincing my Other Half to retire so that we can travel more.

    Lady Luck,
I know what you mean. I go to Riverspirit and sometimes it is really late before I can play some of my favorite machines.
I like Winstar. Talk about being crowded that place can be really crowded especially on the weekends and holidays.
I have not been to Grant or Durant but last year I went to Pocola. I really liked Pocola. I will go back to Pocola. I hope to go to Grant and Durant soon.
Good luck where ever you go.

    JJ,
Sounds like First Council is a nice place. I may have to check it out.
I want to check out Kansas Star sometime too.
I read about a new Casino in Kansas called Crosswinds Casino. Have you heard about it or tried it yet? It opened in March and the Casino claims all their machines are set at 96% payback. Right now they only have class II machines but they are supposed to be working on getting class III too.
I have been to a few of the Miami Casinos. I like Buffalo Run, Downstream and Indigo Sky. I will probably check out the Miami Casinos this summer. I want to try some other locations. Hard Rock and Riverspirit have not been as good to me lately.
Good luck where ever you go.

I had not heard of crosswind. Just googled it and very surprised to see its by Wichita. Crazy. Gonna have to check them out. Wichita is our nearest shopping city. Closer than Tulsa or OKC.
