    I take odds on 6 and 8, I never place bet. Only pass line, Come Line, and odds on 6 and 8 (under the pass line)

    Hi casino36. From a math standpoint, making pass/come bets with odds is better than making place bets. I still prefer place bets on 6/8 over come bets, but you can win either way if the dice are hot.

    [QUOTE=NYphinix;12086]Explained very well Doug...I've been doing Place Bets lately...probably why I've been losing!! LOL

    Seriously though, the bottomline is no betting style will work if a shooter rolls that dreaded 7 (quote)

    ahhh, but there is - play DONT; DONT PASS bet - with odds - place DONT COME - if 2nd roll is a 7, break even, or win if odds laid;

    Good information. Craps is very fun to play. I have easily played for at least an hour on 50 dollars. It is a favorable game for the player if you can find a table that has excellent odds. I have done 100x odds on a come bet and number bets and won quickly.

    I'm not bold enough to bet 100x odds, but if you can afford to, it's a great play. i like to play at $5 tables if available with 5x odds or higher allowed.

    I know, it was a big risk.... I was sweating. The thing was that it was dollars, at the Orleans in Vegas, and that was a looong time ago. If I remember, back in 2001. I did it on a 5 and the come bet. Everyone was yelling, including me. Everyone made good money on that roll. I stopped after that win

    Casino Royale and Riviera now offer 100x odds, in fact Riviera offered 1,000x odds a few months ago. Don't know if they still do or not. I haven't played at Riviera, but Casino Royale has a great craps game, best in Vegas in my opinion.

    Place bets on 4 and 10 pay 9 to 5 and have a big house edge of 6.67% Another option for 4 and 10 is a buy bet. This works just like a place bet with 2 exceptions. First, the payoff is 2 to 1, which is true odds. Second, the casino charges a 5% commission on buy bets. Because of the 5% commission, you have to make a $20 buy bet and pay the dollar commisssion up front. The house edge is 4.67%, which is better than the 6.67% you get by placing the 4 and 10. Some casinos only charge commission if buy bets win. This reduces the house edge to 1.67% Personally, I don't usually play 4 and 10, but many craps players like to have these numbers covered. If you fall into this category, you may be better off buying instead of placing those numbers, especially if commission is charged only on wins.
