I have noticed that Most QH machines in Atlantic City (particularly TR casinos) don't actually have the jackpots active and the just sit at a set level. In my opinion this doesn't give the player an incentive to bet max if getting 5 QH symbols will always yield the same amount.

Is it on all levels or just the max of 9 symbols?

The amounts are all variable until they hit max. The only progressive amount that ever gets to max and stays there is the one for 9 QH. Just makes me realize the odds of hitting 9 QH are beyond astronomical and given the infrequency of good line hits, the game deserves skipping over. Again, another game that was extremely popular and now has mostly empty chairs.

Some QH machine are set at determined amount for all QH symbols, say $15 for 5, $30 for 6 and so on but I have also seen machines with true progressive amount for QH symbols and they keep increasing as play increases.

I used to call these machines my ATM and hit bonuses (sometimes REALLY good bonuses) frequently. Not so much anymore. Not sure if they changed anything internally but I do know that they get a lot of play.

I used to love quick hits but in the past two years or so my locals have been dead on quick hits. Seems like now all I ever see is five symbols at most and 60% of spins end with two bonus symbols. A little disheartening so see the bonus miss so much.
