Ugh. Hated it when it was WOF themed and making it Star Wars themed doesn't make it better

Played this game a lot earlier this week -- first at Encore with nhcris, then (much longer) solo at Cosmopolitan. I was prepared to hate it: I tried it out at the IGT booth at G2E last fall and couldn't figure it out at all. But in real life with real $ it actually made more sense, and I had a lot of fun. The one slightly irritating thing about it was the relentless (and very loud) John Williams theme. I actually turned the volume down a bit -- unusual for me!

I did take the time to read the paytable, and was glad I did. One of the most important things I learned is that you can "bank" up to 30 bonus tokens and use them as multipliers in various configurations when you decide it's time to play a bonus. If you're betting 90 cents to play all three screens and get a bonus symbol on one of the screens, you get one bonus token. If you're max betting ($2.70, less prohibitive than a lot of games these days) and get a bonus symbol, you get three bonus tokens.

There are three bonus games plus an additional Ewok bonus (it doesn't give you a bonus token -- just takes you straight to a "picking" game). You don't get to choose which one triggers; it toggles between them and then settles on one. I managed to play all three, and found the lightsaber duel (Emperor's Final Battle) the most lucrative. In Battle of Yavin you choose a fighter craft and hope not to be shot down too early in the bonus. Battle of Hoth is basically a "picking" bonus; you get an additional credit award if you make it to the end.

WARNING: If you only use a single bonus token (1X bet) you may find the bonus games really low-paying. At Cosmo I waited until I had seven banked, then played three bonuses in a row at 2X, 2X, and 3X. First one (2X Emperor's Final Battle) I won $52.50 backing our boy Darth. Second one (2X Battle of Yavin) I got eliminated third, I think, and won $14.60. Third one (3X Battle of Yavin) my purple fighter got blown up right out of the gate; my total win was $15.00.

I also got a few good line hits at max bet; the best one was $108.15 on a bunch of Darth Vader symbols. (What would the collective noun be? A menace of Vaders?) I also got a $72.30 hit on a gaggle of Lukes. See photos below. It was really hard to take good photos of the big-screen bonuses due to the angle, but it was a pretty fun ride.

    I can't believe I missed seeing and playing this at last year's G2E. :(

Boots, thanks for the tips, I'll use them when I play it this month.

I played this game at Encore a couple of weeks ago and loved it. The music and graphics are extremely well done. I'm generally not much on community games, but this one was a lot of fun.....although it was just DH and I playing it. Boots described the game perfectly--I didn't make much money on any of the bonuses, but I eventually turned my $100 buy in (max betting) into $200 after at least an hour of play.

Im a Star wars fan but I was disappointed with this one. I dont expect it taking up the amount of floor space it does at casinos for too long. The Ewok bonus is lame. They show a set photo of five ewoks and u pick one. Stoops! The Vader Luke battle is fun, much like the Peter Chicken fight on Family guy. I miss the old Star Wars game.

This looks incredible. But I thought they permanently pulled all Star Wars machines from all casinos since they got bought out by Disney. ....

Played this at Seven Feathers in OR last month. Was fun for a while, but got old pretty quick. Stopped there again a few weeks on the return trip and never even played it.
