    Thoughts on high limit slots?

Do they have better pay backs? Are they just a choice of cutting out the play time and getting to the winning or losing quicker?

Hi tigerdave, the higher denomination slots definitely have a better payout percentage. For example Mohegan Sun in CT posted an 89% payout for penny and nickel slots, but jumped up to 98.7% for $10 slots and 92% for $25 slots in March. You're also right about the second part of your question...the winning and losing come fast and furious Hope that helps!

Hi CasinomanCT, sometimes I just figure if I'm going to lose it anyway why not take a chance at hitting something bigger. Haven't had the guts to do it yet. Sure have thought about on the drive home. Don't get me wrong, usually go in pretty positive. Mostly think of this AFTER losing.lol. I enjoy playing and like to make it last.

The paybacks are definitely much better, but betting $25 per spin on a 99% payback machine, you will still lose faster than betting $1 on an 88% payback penny machine.
However, the big wins are certainly more likely on the high limit games, one just must have the bankroll to be able to survive the lows.

I know exactly what you mean.....if I'm on a losing streak that urge to just bet heavy is always there for me to see if I can make it all back. It's paid off a few times

I think I mentioned this on the old forum but I'll say it here too. When I play HL, it's almost a "relief" to win after feeding so much cash through. It seems like the fun aspect is sucked out of it. It's an adrenalin rush no doubt.

Of course, it's all relative if you have a huge bankroll. If you go slotting with a bankroll of $50K, I guess this doesn't apply to you, lol.

Native American High Limit slots may or may not have the same % on any slot anywhere on the gaming floor if the state thier operation is done is UNREGULATED.

Personally I HATE SMOKE in the air. I prefer a hit and run and bag the wins and make it for the highway. Also, I DESPISE low winnings on playback on those "cents" slots [exception can be made for the dime slot in the HL that in spite of it's 10 cents application the min. bet is much much higher].. For instance let's say I bet $0.80 cents a bet and after every 2-3 spins I collect $0.15 cents back or maybe $0.40 cents back... or with the same low bet on a bonus of 20 spins I net maybe $13 bucks.. I'll pass....I want to be dollars on the dollars cycle... none of this crappy cents to the dollar stuff.

The payback is higher on high limit slots, but it costs much more to play them than pennies. I usually set aside a certain amount to play HL slots and once that's gone, I will stay out of the HL room. I haven't won much on HL slots lately. My biggest win was $500 on a $5 Top Dollar at Taj Mahal in AC last November after a $160 investment.

The payback and odds are much better on HL games than on smaller denominations, but they can bleed you dry quick. I suppose it all depends on how you want to play. If you have a modest bankroll and several hours to play, going in to HL may force you to find something else to do for those several hours.

I love the thrill of playing HL...$5, $10, and nine line $1's...but my bankroll needs to be fat to play them. A lot of times if I'm doing well playing penny's I will take my winnings to the HL room and give it a go. Has paid off big many times...and unfortunately ruined a perfectly good day, many times too

At my local, the HL slots payback better than the cents. I recovered many losses in the HL room. My local is a NA casino and they don't post any % payback signs.
