    My History Lesson..

Should have seen it coming but still thought I was bullet proof .... $ 95.00 free play and a comped dinner for two next weekend had me walking on clouds this morning at 6:00 am when I set out to stuff my wallet with their money. Carribean Gold Money Storm which was so kind to me last week quickly taught me that she came to the Dance with a new partner. Nothing , absolutely nothing, as the free play + $ 300 disappeared quickly in the early morning light.
Now I know how Davy Crockett felt on the North Wall of the Alamo, how Napoleon felt at Waterloo, how Nascar fans felt when Dale Earnhart died in a crash 400 yards from the finish line on the last lap, and how I lost a state wrestling championship by 1 point with 90 seconds to go when he broke my nose and the match ended.

Been here before, got up , dusted myself off , and thought about the next round...

I'm sorry it didn't work out better Andy... As we all know to well "it happens", and if we continue to play it will happen again...
The good news is you have good money mgmt skills. You know when to call it a day!
It brings to mind back in the 70's & 80's I was a commodities futures and options broker, trading mainly precious metals. I always used stop losses for all my clients.
I told them look I gave you a floor but there is no ceiling. The good news for You & Me, our floor is Not the basement...
I wish You the very best on your next visit!!
    Here with You! since 9/29/09

    Bettinman,
I am sorry to hear that. Been there and done that. I often wonder how a machine can be so good to you on one visit and the next time nothing?
My husband used to tell me to shake it off there is always next time.
You need to keep playing Scratchstakes. Maybe you can win the $8888 or $5000.
I hope your luck is better next time.
    Good luck.

    Hi Rich,

Very interesting about your career as a commodities broker, especially in precious metals. Do you remember what Gold traded at back then ?

A new day and I'm already recovered , the good news is when I checked my free play this morning they moved me up to $ 110 on my next visit. More fun to play my free online casino site where I'm up to $ 28 Billion and have my own spacious Condo with a view on Mars. Kuda is going to run the casino I'm starting there with that $ 28 Billion and draw in lots of Interplanetary High Rollers. According to the Discovery Channel a lot of meteors have a very high Gold content and we may have need for a man with your expertise in precious metals. Pretty sure we will need a car wash for the Rover vehicles as well since its so dusty ..

Sorry about the loss, Andy. As many have said, we've all been there. I still recall the first time we went to Vegas. About 12 of us and we were so excited !! Our daily gambling allowance was $100 for the whole day (seemed like SO much then). The second day we were there, the guys all went golfing and we girls were just going to gamble and shop or whatever. I started playing my beloved American Original at the Mirage where we were staying. It wasn't being nice to me. Unfortunately it took 2 trips to the safe in our room and a loss of $250 to make me feel nauseous enough to stop. This was all before 10:00 a.m. I always think of that when I start losing....and I play with waaaay more control LOL

The good thing is, the losses always make the winning trips that much sweeter!! Go get 'em, Andy!!!!
Home is where the heart is but any spare change I find goes in the Vegas Fund!

    Thanks Wendy,

I'm sure I told you this before but I start every day with a peek at your Avatar which has me Mesmerized, and I know how important it is to you as well.

As the late Glen Frey of the Eagles sang, " I get a Peaceful, Easy, Feeling, I know won't let me down " ..

By the way, you are included in that first visit to my Condo on Mars with Rich, Kuda, Lea, and all other Fanatics. I'm working on the Rocket we need right now.

Andy LOL! During the spring & summer of 79 platinum was trading around 320.00 oz, gold was in the 280.00 range, palladium 35.00, and silver 5.50...
Then in the fall of 79 metals started to rise, and Dec 79 they exploded! There were 3 reasons for this, the Iranian hostage situation, the Hunt bros buying up massive amounts of silver, and the Russian invasion into Afghanistan. Gold moves up when there's trouble or inflation...I used to do a lot of spread trading with gold vs platinum. My clients loved it because I knew when the timing was in their favor. Today precious metals are totally out of whack and could change quickly with just one news article about changing demand. Palladium is way to high, I mean off the charts too high, and Platinum is too low, it has no business trading under gold... One day probably soon palladium will crash and platinum will rise above gold which historically is where it belongs simply because there is 10 times more gold in the earths crust than platinum... Most likely in the near future there will be a great opportunity for spread trading, but not yet...
If you don't understand the logic or benefits of spread trading I will explain it to you. I'll just say the risk is much lower and the chance to profit is higher than a straight up regular trade...

    Hi Rich,

it is very interesting to learn about that side of your life, that is one of the great things we share here on Fanatics with each other. The closest I ever came to metal speculation is the Gallon Pickle Jar I have filled with Silver Quarters and Half Dollars in it..

You are one hell of a guy, Rich99 ...
