How much do you tip on a jackpot? Say it was a huge jackpot

I typically tip about $20 on a $1200-$2000 jackpot, but what if you won $20,000? How much would you tip? I still don't think I would go over $100, because after all, all they did was hand me out the money and give me the tax forms. I would be more apt to tip the waitress a $100 and the slot attendant $20.

Great question, I guess it all goes down to how generous do you feel.

When my mom won her 32K on 88 Fortunes several years ago, she tipped both attendants that paid her out $100 each. She felt that it was necessary to give them something (as they were quite quick in paying her out).

Later that night, she got a few smaller hand pays and asked the attendant "what do people usually tip" shockingly the attendant replied "usually nothing. We use to get alot more tips". That made mom feel better that she did the right thing at that time. She usually gives the attendants $5-20 (depending on the handpay amount).

I cant believe that most people dont tip anymore. Maybe its that people dont get handpays anymore. Or they lose all their money chasing for the progressive and get a handpay (but still end up down).

I know casinos made a huge dent in their staff tips when they raised the handpay amounts (from 500 to 1000) at my local. You dont see many handpays any more (which imo has taken the fun out of going to the casino).

Most Casino Etiquette 'manuals' -you know, those helpful advisors on the web- say .5 to 2 percent, so high end on that amount would be $400. My daughter and I agree that $200 is probably where we'd be. But it's a gratuity so anything you give should be appreciated and the more you give, the happier the recipient is. Give what you are comfortable with and don't think twice about it.

I agree tip what you are comfortable with. I tip around $20 if it is a small handpay. When I won my $7500 at The Palace in Biloxi a few years ago the attendant said they were paid enough money for their job that they did not need tips. I thought that was cool.

Yep. My daughter won $140K on a dollar bet and a few months later won $50K. Uncle Sam got tipped well.
These were online at Sugar House NJ so no tips for “attendants” involved.
    A savings of sorts.

No, it was fine. It's a gratuity so anything is fine, and in a no-tip culture, it's really fine.
