So sorry to hear about the brutal losses you had. I have had days like that but in my area it does not happen very often thank goodness. I wish you lived closer to Oklahoma so you could play at our locals. Our Hard Rock has been really good to me lately and Riverspirit has too. Hard Rock Tulsa is giving away $500,000 August 2nd at all 7 Cherokee locations.
I wish the Hard Rock in your area had a lot of competition, that might give you a chance. Good luck wherever you play.

Yes, the casinos are pretty good in Oklahoma. Of course we have days that could be better. I do enjoy playing at the Oklahoma casinos.

There is no competition nearby. Closest casino is 2 1/2 hours away. I have done great there on several occasions. Twice in a month I won 11 grand on buffalo gold (same machine) 2 weeks apart. I have also done poorly. Florida overall is tight. Just saw that Caesars purchased Isle casino in pompano beach so maybe that will help loosen the Indian casinos but I doubt it.

Does FL regulations still only allow for slots at pari-mutuals? And even the tribal gaming is still class III (i.e. mostly just glorified bingo machines)? They need to change their regulations before you will have any luck at casinos in FL.....

No they are no longer class 3 in Florida. Not just at pari mutuals.

Agreed - been here twice while on business. Will never, ever go back. My thought - if you want to play in FLA, go anywhere else by car or boat and play there. Only places that are as bad as Tampa HR in my experience are casinos in Washington State and New York State (at least in Washington State you can play table/card games with real cards) . As stated slots at THR are glorified electronic scratch offs and they obviously don't care about all the social network bad publicity they get.

I had heard from an industry insider that the Hard Rock at Tampa was the highest grossing casino in the entire country by square footage.

Because of lack of competition, they don’t need to outlay that much for marketing, can tighten up the machine paybacks, and even the high end table players don’t get much compared to what they can get from comparable play at other properties.

My recommendation, especially in this economy, is go to the properties that are looser and/or more generous with their marketing. Save your money.
Save your budget for those places.
You’ll be rewarded accordingly either thru longer play time, higher win rate, better experience etc.
