I saw this post to day on a blog and it made me angry. These massive companies continue to de-theme casino/resorts and make them high end. Well I'm telling you there is no way I'm coming across the country to visit a casino that looks/feels the same as my local. The themes make it unique and worth visiting. For the past few trips, I been noticing that each casino on the strip is starting to look/feel like every other renovated casino. With out the extras (theme) why bother?

And on a second rant, walking through the Luxor last year it was disgusted to see multiple sports bars in front of the pyramids. It really takes away from the Egyptian theme. Anyone else think the polynesian/tropic theme is lost at the Mirage as well?

Guess this is how they vision Vegas of the future. No fun, no excitement. just take all your money (thru fees, markups, hidden scams) while you stand in line getting more out.

I hope this does not happen. We need Vegas to stay unique. I hope we do not have to watch old Vegas movies to see how Vegas was. I hope Vegas continues to have themes.

Few remember but when Luxor first opened there was a IMAX theatre and a water boat ride circling the inside lobby area. The inclinators are a bit creepy to ride but the claim to fame is still the projector light shooting into the sky.
