    Missing my Casino time

Atlantic City is my go to place. Living about an hour away it has been my escape . I spend hours not thinking about the daily grind when I am playing. I enjoy the atmosphere ,the food and drinks ,and hopefully some fun wins. I miss going and will return as soon as it opens. I wonder how this pandemic will change things at the Casino. Hopefully slot machines will be cleaned more often. My favorite Casino recently has been Ocean. So beautiful and what I do like about it is they have some nice lounging areas to sit and relax if you want to take a break from gambling. I am wondering if Social Distancing will continue. Stay safe.

I suppose when they open back up you could wear rubber gloves and a mask and try to play on isolated machines. If you don't want to wear gloves bring some hand sanitizer and wipe down the machine before playing. However, it is risky to go right back as soon as they open. I would wait and see what this virus does first. Hopefully it dies off during the hot summer months, but beware, it could be back in the winter.

Agreed, We all want to go back to the casino but I'm not gonna rush back there on day one... I can't think of a more germ/virus spreading environment than a casino, especially slot machines. If you go to a sports stadium or movie theater your seat, arm rests, and railing in front of your seat was probably only touched by the last person that sat there at a previous event. Compare that with playing slots where you're rubbing shoulders with peeps on your left & right and hundreds of people have sat in that seat and touched that machine in just a few hours...
I think it may be wise to avoid for a while...

I too have the itch to go again but I'll hold off once they reopen. I'm wondering if they'll do a social distancing thing where only a certain amount of people are allowed in at a time and maybe shut down every other game so you can't sit elbow to elbow with someone..

I will go back... with a larger bank roll than normal. I am just collecting my paycheck and watching my little casino bankroll grow quite fast. That being said... the day the casinos open back up it will be so crowded that I will not go. Being more of a night owl ( unlike Andy... aka Bettin Man who goes at 5 AM) I will most likely plan a trip to arrive at the casino at around midnight. I will play until I win, lose, or need to go home. I will go armed with a purse full of Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, and a small spray bottle with a 10% bleach solution, and of course, my extra large bank roll. We were saying today that is gonna be a LONG month... hubby and I kept saying ALL day... "Gosh, this day seems l-o-n-g..." we raked our entire front yard ( our yard is 1.5 acres total, back and front), and I went inside and made 3 loaves of banana bread, tacos and fixings, cleaned my bathroom top to bottom, did 2 loads of laundry, dusted, vacuumed, and steam mopped my floors!! Here it is 7:45 pm. and it feels like it should be midnight. I have already drank my usual ONE 16 ounce can of delicious hazy New England style IPA beer.... I might have to think about making it two. Being a "glass half full" kind of girl, I will just keep my focus on the fact that this too, shall pass, and enjoy my time at home with my favorite people... my family, praising my God for keeping me safe, healthy, and doing this when the internet is available to keep me distracted. May you all be safe, healthy, and look towards the future with a positive attitude. PS... we are getting our first thunderstorm as I type this... I LOVE the sound of thunder.... THINK SPRING!!!

Agree with Rich - it's hard to imagine a place of greater contamination than the Slots areas of a casino. I will stifle my urges and hold off until we see the true fall-out of all of this. I didn't need or want that stimulus stipend that they are going to send us. But since they are I will take that wind fall and play high limit Ultimate X poker on my first trip back. Maybe Lady Luck will reward the old gambler with a super Jackpot one last time before it's time to weigh the scales.

My son is a widower Dad and has four kids and lost his job in all this(He doesn't work for one of those companies that pays everyone through the shutdown. Bless you for being one of those who do, Rich.). So our stimulus goes to him and his family. I am sure parents and grandparents everywhere are doing the same. I grew up in the 50's, a fanciful time. I just don't know how families get by these days and now this. Happier times are ahead if we all do our part.

Yes in many ways the 50's were wonderful... A simpler less stressful time, a time when most families were together. It was a different world...
I remember when I was a young boy maybe 7 or 8 yrs old, I used to love visiting my grandmother. Every couple of months Mom & Dad would drop me off for a few days and come back and get me lol. She had an apple tree in her back yard, I used to climb the tree and pick apples and watch her roll the dough and make pie ... I remember across the street there was a Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) , I used to stare out the window and watch the big bucket slowly spin at the top of a high pole. Underneath the bucket was a large sign that read "We Fix Sunday Dinner 7 Days A Week". And sure enough every Sunday as soon as Church let out the parking lot was full! And I'd watch all the people walk back to their cars carrying big buckets and all their sides
What is a little sad is if a restaurant displayed that sign today a lot of our younger generation would ask Whats up with Sunday? Whats that all about?...
20yrs later I purchased the property and that same KFC is my tenant. Over the past 30yrs 3 times they asked me to lower their rent and deed them over more land so they could have a drive thru, all was done because they are a very good tenant, they never bother me about anything...
So Yes "Happier times are ahead if we all do our part" and that includes leaving some toilet paper & paper towels in the store for someone else! lol
I'm not sure if i'd be having this problem back in the 50's...

    Rich,
I remember the 50's and 60's too. That was a simpler time. We could leave our windows open and our doors unlocked.
One of our aunts and uncles had a ferris wheel in their yard. We would go in the summer months and stay a few days with them. The ferris wheel was really tall and it could seat 2 people at once. It was so much fun to ride it.
On Sundays my parents and my brother and I would go get hamburgers and french fries after Church. We really looked forward to that time together.
Things will get better. Stay well everyone.
