    Harrahs Gulf coast

Went on a junket for 4 days from Fort Myers, Florida. I haven't been there since 2005 so I was surpised that I had 50.00 FP. First night I did very well on dragon link, changing bet sizes and got several bonuses on 1.00 denim, 5.00 bet. Cashed out 1106.00. Played some game called Joe Blow which I stayed on way too long and lost my 1106.00. Fast forward to my last night, was playing Wonder 4 Buffalo Gold since the Buffalo jackpot was 400.00. Played for 5 hours and was down 1200.00 on the machine but I figured it was my last night and I had held my own thus far. None of my bonuses were paying anything and I was getting annoyed with myself since I have a love/hate relationship with this game. Got the bonus on 9.20 and got 4 coins which is the kiss of death for me, spun the wheel and landed on super free games. 20 spins in and not 1 gold head but still had several games to go. Finally heads started showing up and a few more retriggers, 53 spins later got all buffalo and 3798.00. While I was waiting for my money, I got another bonus and finally landed on the 400.00 and regular free games, cashed out 800.00 more. So I came home with 1200.00 more than I went with.

Overall, the slot floor is ok, if it wasn't for Buffalo, I would have been bored. Some of the same machines were there from when I went 14 years ago. Not much in the way of food choices, 4 days of the same buffet was quite boring. The trip was nice but it will be awhile before I go back.

Now if if I can stay away from my local and save my bankroll for Ameristar (my favorite casino) in February , that would be a Christmas miracle.

    thanks for reading

Glad it was a successful trip for you. I've tried the buffalo gold several times and I either can't get the bonus at all or I can get maybe 5 buffalo heads and it's over due to no retriggers..

Great you was up at this casino! I've been three times recently, once just played the $2 pinball with my $50 freeplay, hit the bonus and walked out with nearly $300. The other 2 times was bad, lost over $1000. I'm not going back anytime soon, I do better at the Beau. I was there Thursday when someone hit $160,000 on a multi denomination machine playing $100 2 credits. Yowza! Wonder if he or she is up for the year?

Congratulations. I'm interested in hearing about Ameristar. I have free rooms there and was thinking of trying it out but I wasn't sure it would be worth it compared to other choices. I have read and heard good things but that was years ago. Are there good food choices? Do they have a nice gaming floor? Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

This is Ameristar in St. Louis. I absolutely love this casino! From the staff to the slot floor, I have no complaints. Every room has a living room and fridge. I love the slot floor, it is 2 levels. First level are all the new games, Gold, Grand, all the link games, on and on. 2nd level are all the old favorites. King of Africa, captain Cutthroat, wild grizzly, Betti the Yetti, etc. I don't smoke but play in the smoking section and didn't have a problem with the ventilation. They have a nice casual seafood place, a fancy restaurant, a buffet place and a diner. All good, reasonably priced.

During the summer months they have a trolley that is free and will take you around the town.

I am from Florida so I can only get there 1 or 2x a year but as soon as I book it, the countdown begins.

Hmmm sounds interesting. I didn't know there was one there. I will have to look it up. Thanks for the info.

Nice comeback on that Buffalo Gold. I avoid Harrah's Gulf Coast even though they give me some status. That $50 FP may have come from the junket.
I bet you I can stop gambling!

Good point Flyguy, I didn't think of that. Where do you play in Biloxi?

I devote most of my play to the Beau Rivage and get good comps and good Vegas offers. Hard Rock gets some play too but not like the Beau.

So far this year I am ahead at the Beau by $11.58. Have a junket booked for 7 Dec with wife and third week in Jan solo. Hard to turn down the $50 offers with $50 free play and flying from close to home.
I bet you I can stop gambling!
