    Vegas trip report 09/24-09/28

Got back Saturday from a 4 night stay at Mandalay Bay. No suite upgrade this time, but the room was pretty nice.

Slots - Just awful. I hate to use the term hopeless, but that seems to be the general feeling I get at the strip casinos. Put in 200$, gone in 10 min. $300, gone in 15 min, ect. No Bonus's, and those that do bonus, end up at 3x-10x bet, some not even covering a damn spin!
I think my biggest win was super free spins on Buff Gold wonder 4 tower for $270 on a $7.20 bet, with no retriggers. Lightning link was brutal, ball bonus's were almost non existent.

Food- Awesome. Stripsteak at MB was excellent, shared a 40oz Waygu Tomahawk with one of my buddies. Just melted in your mouth, and the gratin potatoes were awesome. Diablo at Luxor had pretty good tacos, though we found a spot off strip that was far better and less $$, La Mojarra Loca Grill. The Molcajete Azteca was second to none.

Drinks- Too many to list. Don't remember much about them anyway

The floors on the strip casinos had a very quiet empty feel for much of the time. Fremont was much more lively atmosphere.

My feeling at the end was that I am no longer going to be MGM's bitch for free rooms and shitty freeplay offers. Greektown casino in Detroit is being bought by Penn National and maybe my $$ would go further there and with their Vegas affiliates.

Thanks for the report. Sorry the slots were not nice to you, but at least you had some awesome meals.

Sorry to hear about your experience with the slots on the strip. You mention Fremont had a more lively vibe. did you do any better at the Fremont. The last time I was in Vegas and I stayed on the strip (bally's) I lost my As*. I think I will try downtown or the Boulder strip next time. May be my money will at least last a little longer.

Save your money Red Penn sucks too (Hollywood Toledo,Joliet Columbus ,Kansas,Lawerenceburg) you may as well throw your bankroll in first trash can you see.
All their joints I've been to make MGM and Jack Detroit look like ATM machines.

That's not good to hear. Jack Detroit is Greektown, and I believe is being acquired by Penn National. The only other is Motor City, and I don't think that they partner with anyone in Vegas. There is always Caesar's Windsor I guess.

Only played a little blackjack on Fremont and did not do well. My 2 friends that I met are not gamblers, so they kept me reasonably balanced for the 4 days. I do know that there are few friends I can play blackjack with as most make stupid plays that make me want to go drink more.

yes Jack is Greektown and also Cleveland and Cincy.
Gilbert owned Greektown and made huge money off sale to Penn.
Motorcity has always been crap never won there never liked it.
Been mostly playin the indian joints lately (firekeepers ,Sagining Eagle and Four winds )i'd rather ride a little while in car than lose money the whole time i'm out lol

I hit Firekeepers occasionally. I noticed something odd the last time I was there. They had the new Buffalo extreme games there, and they had the bingo board like a class 2 slot up top and the note that the bingo card determined all outcomes and the screen was for entertainment purposes only. I did not think they used any class 2 machines there. Oddly enough, it was the only machine I hit hard on that day.

We must have taken it all, we left two days before you got there and for the third trip in a row took home more than we brought playing nearly exclusively at MB, only machines that disappointed the hell out of us were those three reel buffs and dragons on the North end those were impossible to hit on at any amount and not just for us everyone we watched play them was a loser. WORST BUFFS EVER!
