Whats your favorite new slot release?

I just got back from a trip to Vegas and played so many new relases. Many I had high expectations for some I had none. I must say I have always had a soft spot for WMS games(now SG). Played several new titles from them and was not overly impressed. Heidi and Hanna get an F from me. Can't say much good about this title. Watched so many people put money in this one and walk away 5 minutes later broke. Big swing and miss on this one for me. New Wonka was just okay, tougher than previous one and multipliers on oompa bonuses are about impossible. The new OZ (munchkinland) was so tough. I did manage a couple bonuses and witches but nothing memorable. Did not have a house fall on the witch once. I did like the new planet moolah, had one good session on it but another game that has long cold spells. Played the new Wicked Winnings Diamond by aristocrat, again not impressed. Same game different shaped screen. Not much going on with aristocrat this trip. I have played the nugget and samuri clones of the latest Tarzan other places and am not a huge fan. The surprise for the trip for me was Willie Nelson by Everi. Played several times and had a lot of good interaction with this one. Lots of mini bonuses and had a great on the road again bonus on this game. I think Everi is stepping up its game the last few years. Another Everi game I liked was Shark week. Had quite a few good sessions on this one too. Played a game with a phoenix symbol for the base game and liked it. Had a few times that the random stuff wouldn't come up, but quite a few active ones too. Overall Everi did a lot to win me over this trip and SG seems to be continuing down the path higher minimums and less frequent bonuses. Anyhow that is my thoughts. Top three new games #1 Willie Nelson #2 Shark Week #3 Invaders From Planet Moolah Attack. Worst new game goes to Heidi and Hanna (hate to say this cause I loved the other ones).

I want to win that Zorro Mighty Cash game so badly!
Moved back to Ohio from AZ. Rude awakening. The Ohio casinos are horrible.

I played the new 3 reel buffalo gold last night and hated it. The line pays are awful at max bet and the 2 coin teasers are non stop.

I also really liked WMS before SG took over. They definitely ruined the Lord of the Rings 3 reel game. I don't like any of the new Wonka's. The Heidi/Hannah game is awful. I do like their Game of Life Career Day game and the newer lock it link games. I really like Zeus Unleashed (not sure if this is WMS).

Aristocrat new releases are pretty awful too. The newer buffalo games are bad. I still like Buffalo Gold over any of them. I like Wild Wild Nugget too.

In general the newer slots seem not great.

I feel like all slot companies are losing it when it comes to fun and creativeness in the new games. 5 years ago when a popular slot company came out with a new innovation that was easy to understand yet fun to play, no one ever thought it would be this popular. Enough Lightning Link Clones already. I'm sick of these progressive link games. Come out with something different. And if you do, for the love of God make the bonus come up more than every 5000 spins.

I walk around my locals and I see the same thing everywhere. Slot Floor Managers dont understand that you dont need 50 Lightning Link machines along with 50 clones and 50 wanna be clones. The slot selection is boring. It's all free spins, progressives and multipliers. There are some unique games out there but casinos cant get them because all of their money is tied up in the Links. Enough of the Links. Break the chain. End the relationship.

Slot floors are stale and boring these days. They need something fresh new and exciting. They need a page from the past. Look back at the games that made casinos they are. Stop letting the bean counters order the games changes. They obviously dont know what they are ordering. It's almost like they are ordering from a Sears catalog and going by the picture because they like how it looks (or in this case what it will potentially bring in). Walk the floor during different times to see what's being played, what's not being played and figure out why it's not being played. Talk to the players.

I know for a fact that 20% (maybe even higher) of the new games fail because the games was mis configured (wrong lines, wrong denom, low volume, broken buttons). If a game is not performing have it reviewed before replacing it. Having someone who knows about the games help. Eg: a 5c buffalo legends isnt going to be played much because the min is too high. Not everyone can afford 2.50 a spin.

So many good games were pulled for one or more of the above reasons. So many games I loved were pulled because the bean counters said so. And if you question this, usually the answer is "I dont know".

Every casino should employ someone to test each and every game regularly. Make sure that the volume settings are set correctly. Make sure the buttons are working. Make sure the screen is calibrated. My biggest pet peeve is lack of or no volume at all. Brand new Jamesbond at my local and it has no sound . Why? Cause someone turned down the master volume (probably by error). I had to get a tech to change the settings. That game needs to be loud, proud and exciting. So many games these days dont have the excitement factor. That's why I miss the pre WMS (before SG killed it). At least back than the games got you excited.

Does anyone else agree that it's no longer exciting playing the new games? Why because they are pretty much all the same. Fu bat progressive pick. Sick of it. Better of just awarding the mini randomly. At least Konami gives you a "show"

Message to the manufacturers: bring the wow factor back to the games. Make the games fun and exciting. Surprise us. Think outside the box. Easter eggs are great. You have the tools and resources. Play some of your older games to see what worked back than.

Message to the casinos: listen to your players, find out what games they want to see and make sure they are playing them. If they are not playing them find out why and if its something related to the machines itself.

In closing, I will be happy when the Lightning Link fad wears off (but I'm not sure how many more years its going to take).

What is my favorite new slot release? It's not that new anymore, but I'd have to say dancing drums.. I was very reluctant to play since it has a picking feature for the bonus. My favorite Aristocrat game of all time, Where's the Gold, also has a picking feature but I seem to do ok on that.. I played dancing drums a few times and now I play min bet at 88 cents every casino visit and it seems I can usually bonus on it within 2 twenties..

Mostly I play the older games but I do think Thunderball James Bond is fun, and Wonder Woman. Otherwise most of the new games are too hard to get the bonus and line pays are crap. I hate when games pay like .12 for a "win" when youre betting minimum .75.

You said... " And for the love of God, make the bonus come up more than every 5000 spins...." I am of the opinion that slot machines are no longer RNG... they are computers that can be totally programmed with everything from how often a bonus comes up, to payout percentages on EACH bet amount, to how often the progressive hits, and more. We no longer have even a hint of a true "random" win. It has all been programmed, and can be changed with the click of a mouse in the server room to where the machines are connected. Server based machines should be against the law....

There are no real fun new games. AT least in my opinion... I prefer the old games. I don't need flash, pop, vibrating chairs, 50 foot tall cabinets, stereo sound.... give me a REAL RNG box that cannot be manipulated from a server. Now... off my soap box.... I DID actually find a new game I thought was fun... Money Ball. Play it if you find it... it is fun... well... anywhere but my local, where they put the percentage down so low on games that have huge potential wins. I played this game for the first time on vacation to Washington State... in a casino in Olympia WA. It was actually quite a fun game....

Guess I forgot to list my favorite games (not that there are many). I totally agree with @steph Konami Money Ball is a different/fun game to play. Wins might not always been there but at least Konami puts on a good show .
One IGT game I really like and keep playing over and over again is Griffins Throne. My local was chosen to test this game so we have had it for almost 9 months now. (Its going to be available online in a few days on Double Down Fort Knox).
For an SG game, I would have to choose Jinse Dao. The frequently random features make the game fun. I would have chosen James Bond but gosh darnit that game is just too expensive and too hard to get a bonus.
For Aristocrat it would had to be Lightning Link. Just kidding (read my post above to see why). Its the B-52s. So much fun and energy into that game. Yeah, you dont win much but you have fun playing it.
For Everi its has to be Shark week (from what I have seen cause none of my locals got it yet).
