Supply and demand in full force. Consumers can choose to not pay by not going. Considering on some special prices of $49 per night, the resort fee is now over 100% above the room rate. Even if you have a comp'ed room, in most cases you will still pay that resort fee. Nothing is ever "free". If they all do this (like most airlines now charge bag fees), it leaves little incentive for a competitor to buck the trend.

Resort Fees began as a little add on cost to the room rate. Folks didn't like it but it was no biggie. That was then, now it appears peeps are more concerned about resort fees than the actual room rate...
To put in slot terms "Greed Deluxe" with a multiplier! .. Maybe 10x. Sigh...

Las Vegas has lost its appeal to me. Expensive trips and bad paying slots.
Moved back to Ohio from AZ. Rude awakening. The Ohio casinos are horrible.
