Different types of slots "Free Play" mechanisms

So far, I've encountered two methods of getting slots Free Play.

    1. Free Play available immediately. Type in my PIN and select $ amount for Free Play. (Most casinos)

    2. Need to wager one spin with own money before Free Play is available. (Sugar House)

This weekend, I encountered a different method at the Hard Rock Tulsa casino

    3. After downloading the Free Play, each bet needs to be wagered with own money, and then the Free Play is credited back.

    Are there any other methods?

Free play given in a ticket voucher form that must be inserted into machine. Any winnings can be cashed out from initial amount.

True, That method has been around for a while, but it seems like more casinos are switching over to simply applying fp to your club card...

    A) Free play after you earn a certain number of points that day.
    B) Free play based on the amount you lost on a previous visit.

One quirk that Rich informed me of after a disappointing bonus round in $5 Pinball at the Beau Rivage Biloxi. The casino requires you invest some of your money to gain from the free play. I put $5 cash in and activated the free play. After a few dead spins I got the 4 shot bonus from betting $10 free play. However, the slot would only pay me as if I had wagered $5 instead of $10 and only gave me the result of the first spin. That was somewhat upsetting!! Had I put $10 of my own money in first there would have been no problem and a bigger payout.
I bet you I can stop gambling!

Choice #3 is used in Biloxi at the Beau Rivage. But all of the other casinos there use #1. That is the one that I prefer.
