Didn't wait for the Lightning link Major to get hit overnight

We've all been there, see the $1.000 Major on Lightning Link, try for it, leave and come back the next hour, after a meal or the next day and see it reset to somewhere in the $500's.

Found a Tiki Fire, sent DW over to play it showing her the $1,000 Major. DW plays it through $60 at .50 bet and gets one lousy Hold & Spin. I go over and wallow at Buffalo Grand losing $100 in FP and another $100. Brutal night, decide to leave and on the way out see the $1,000 Tiki Fire open at 1AM.

Meanwhile, a dude three seats away playing $25/spin gets a $1300 handpay. Figure there's no chance of another handpay at the same time so close.

Stick $100 in at $1/bet and a few Hold & Spins but nothing to write home about. Burn through the $100 in about an hour, get ready to leave and think, how many times have I seen these get hit between late in the night and the following morning so decide to play $100 more. Get a nice $120 bonus on the first spin with the extra $100. Play for about another 30 minutes keeping about $200 in the machine.

This Tiki Fire plays a little slower as the reels hit. Press the button and hear the clear "Snap" of the Major along with $4 and $2 coins in the second column. Quickly depressed when the 3rd column is void of any and get a single $3 coin in the fourth column. Depression turns to elation and shock as two $2 coins come out in the fifth column.

First Hold & Spin gives a $50 coin in the bottom right and get a little concerned about a handpay. The coins quietly end with three other low coins and a $1071 total in the bonus. Not bad on a $1/bet and $25/spin guy simply shakes his head. Get the machine up to $1400, cash out and go home.

    Congrats Randy,

I've had that little Green Monster come to live with me 9 times now over the last 3 years or so. Playing early yesterday morning 5:30 am on a row of 8 Lightning Links and still trying to get the cob webs out of my brain when I hear that familiar " Snap " and immediately see 7 other faces look over at me. Unfortunately, only 3 of his friends came to play with him, not 5....
Fear not, several minutes later I got 6 Hearts and a Minor with it for $ 389 when the dust settled, and this was still off my free play...
Two of the other players told me that a lady had hit the Major twice around 3:00 that morning, once on a Tiki Fire version, and the other on a High Stakes version for around $ 1,400-$1,500 just on the Majors....
I've toasted the marketer at Aristocrat many times who thought up the Major " Snap " recognition, as it may be the most recognizable and most sought after sound in a casino....
The lady who hit it twice was playing on the bank of 8 machines on the opposite side yet everyone on both sides knew when she hit it by the " SNAP "...
    Congrats again, enjoy your win....

Agree with you on the recognizable sound in the casino - either that or the "Buffalooooooooo" from Buffalo Grand .

Early on Thursday mornings when I visit the sound of the Howling Timber Wolves will carry over half the casino floor....

Nice hit, what did the Major reset to? Recently I was playing next to a woman who was betting 2.50 a spin on a maxed out major for three hours she dropped 800+ in the machine. She ran outta money and went to the ATM. Came back lowered her bet to a $1 a spin, then BAM she hit it. What was odd was the Major didn't reset to $500 it reset to $535. So the machine actually doesn't tap out in the background? Never new this....

Yes, when the major is maxed out, it still is accumulating to a second major in the background, so the reset amount varies.
