    Wendy,
So glad you had a great time and got to do a lot of fun stuff. My husband and I love Arizona. It is such a pretty state. Like you said the cactus are amazing to see. I like the weather there too.

The San Xavier Mission was so beautiful and serene. The Sonora Desert museum was amazing ~ lots to see in a natural setting! I don't think I'll ever tire of seeing the many types of cactus ~ lots of flowering too! Did 3 long and challenging hikes including one in Ventana Canyon where I split my pants on the way up and had to continue hiking for another 2.5 hours!! LOL Thank goodness I had my hoodie around my waist!!

Mt Lemmon was spectacular. The chairlift up and seeing snow on the ground was interesting! Saw many different animals ~ deer, beautiful red cardinals, a bobcat in our backyard, roadrunners and ....... a tarantula and a black racer snake (about 2 feet long) AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! I survived!!!!

All in all, a great trip. Even snuck in a quick trip to Casino del Sol.......I played only a little bit but managed to bonus several times on the Dancing Drums and left with an extra 45c......a win!!!

    Happy Wenday, ( Get it ? ),

Glad to hear you are back safe and sound and appear to have had a wonderful time.. Like Kuda said, we are also big fans of Arizona. If our winters weren't so bad in Pa. my whole yard would be filled with Cactus... I've got 8 pots on my desk of various cactus plants.
You mentioned the Beautiful red cardinals, and there is a woman in Arizona who actually has a Yellow Cardinal that comes to her feeders each morning. Betcha Mrs.Cardinal had a hard time explaining that one to Mr.Cardinal !!! Might have been a passionate affair of short duration with a Goldfinch !!
You made me chuckle about splitting your pants as I had that happen while making a sales call with the President of our company on a very important customer about 12 years ago.
We had driven early one morning about 300 miles to visit a customer in W.Va. Stopped at a rest stop on the way down and when I got out of the car I dropped my keys. Bent over to pick them up and my suit pants split from the zipper in front to the belt loop in back, and I was immediately aware of a strong breeze blowing !!.
We stopped at a Kohls dept. store but they had nothing in my size or appearance that wouldn't make me look like a Circus Clown...
We finally did a field repair with about 90 safety pins in a Wawa Mens room, and Thank God my suit jacket covered most of the imperfections during my presentation. I had worn dark navy blue Boxers that morning so there was no " Peek a Boo" between the safety pins and we signed a new 2 year contract before we left. The ride home felt like I was sitting on a bed of nails !!!!
Glad you're back safe and sound ....
