    Buried inside this article:

"Blatstein has a pending casino license in front of state gaming regulators, but a 2014 deed restriction from Caesars Entertainment still prevents gaming operations on the property."

Fascinating. I really like the apartment idea. I think it makes a lot of sense, and could finally do some of what the casinos should've done a long time ago - help develop aspects of the city that they never fully dove into.

Interesting that he'd like to put a casino there, or at least, is pursuing it. I think timing's off to do anything soon ... 2 new casinos should suffice for at least a year and allows everyone to see how the market will go, but obviously, getting the license and redoing things will take time anyways. Caesar's is going to block that tooth and nail. I actually wouldn't be stunned if Hard Rock was willing to support the idea ... dunno for some reason, just wonder if Hard Rock would be amenable to attracting more people there. Could be totally off base.

I don't know what I think. A part of me is nostalgic. I really liked Showboat back in the day. Another part of me doesn't think Atlantic City could really handle another casino and that it might lead to things being spread too thin a bit. Dunno, would have to see the numbers for each casino to really know.

The apartments are a good idea. Oceanfront, how do you go wrong with that, right? I think the market could handle a small-scale SB. If he could realize a small bit of profit (say, $1M a month), it would help the property, and wouldn't be enough to really hurt the others. Also, he could then get an internet license and easily pick up another million per month. No doubt CET didn't want anything like this. It will be interesting to see how things play out. The rumblings from the CCC and Trenton was annoyance at the deed restriction so SB seems to have possible (and powerful) allies there.
    AC is interesting again!
    I wish them all success.
