    Three Rivers debacle

A beautiful sunny day in Oregon yesterday, so DW, SIL, and I headed over to the coast and stopped at Three Rivers in Florence. The morning started off with a series of wins small enough to reinvest, but after an hour I was down $60. Took time for lunch, then the plan was they'd leave me at the casino while they went to the thrift stores and maybe for a walk on the beach. I was going to have three hours. EXCEPT: Betting low, at 50 cents, I went through $90, mostly playing Timber Wolf Deluxe. One bonus in all those spins for a total of $3.75. Having hit my $150 plus $10 FP limit in about 20 minutes I wondered how to spend the next couple of hours. Finally decided to call them and see if they could come get me. They had not left the parking lot yet, so that and the weather are the only ways I could possibly say I was "lucky." Three Rivers can KMA. Will not return for the foreseeable future.

Sorry to hear about the bad session. Since "misery loves company", maybe it will make you feel better to know that each and every time I have played timber wolves in every variation of the game, it is a horrible experience.. No bonus or horrible bonus..

Yeah, those dogs and I do NOT like each other; I avoid that game like a case of rabies.

DW and I went to Three Rivers over spring break. Comped Sunday brunch... sorry we don't serve prime rib anymore on Sundays. Apparently I complained to the right person because next thing I know here come a couple of slices from one of the other restaurants. Gaming wise... WE GOT KILLED! Lost almost half of my 3 day bankroll in about 2 hours, so we jumped in the car and drove 50 miles to The Mill. Also noticed that the whole mood in there was depressed, a lot of the older machines that we liked were gone. Just not a good vibe after new management was brought in.

Thanks for helping confirm my suspicions about Three Rivers. Our favorite Oregon casino is Seven Feathers, next is Chinook Winds, then the Mill I guess, then Spirit Mountain (I'm not sure I've ever won there in perhaps 20 visits) and Three Rivers now lands at the bottom. They no longer have the buffet open for lunch on weekdays (the only days we go) and if you look around, it doesn't seem like anyone is winning or having fun. Lots of somber faces. I wonder how close they might be to closing it down. Too bad, too, because for a long time it was a lot of fun. We played enough and won enough to get a comped room every now and then, and had some good times, but the last several visits have all been calamitous. Oh, and since they closed the buffet at lunch, the coffee shop has raised its prices so that a typical lunch now costs more than the buffet used to be, and of course, drinks and desserts are extra. We're pretty much done there after years of patronizing the place.
