love what you posted about $5/$250 for the locals!! love it!! I may regret my lack of discipline at times but I never would have had the casino experience I had low rolling it on 1c or 25c 3 reels. If I were to subtract my comps from my losses I would have little to ever complain about, in fact at one casino if I do that I am actually even as a high tiered player. I don't suggest to folks to run to the casino everytime they throw you a bone but the comps certainly add up.

But if you can back up your play with enough comps to offset something else, I don't consider losing your stake to make you a loser.

I do 80% of all my gambling on vacation. And vacations are never free. But if we vacation where I play, even with losing thousands of dollars, its actually a bargain for us.

If i wanted to take the wife to downtown Chicago, stay at an OK property for the night. Grab a Broadway show and eat diner, I'm out $500. If the two of us book my free suite at the locals, use a meal credit, have a nights worth of entertain on the machines and sleep in a free room. That's $500 as well. Or maybe, just maybe, its free or we win something.

    They're two different experiences.

Well said! I tell people all the time Do NOT play for comps. If your goal is getting a room for free, it is cheaper to book that room on sale for $59.99 a night for 3 nights then to gamble and risk losing thousands in order to gain your "free" room.

But just like you, I'm gambling any way! Not for a free room. But I love the fact that free room follows!

I lose more than I win. The math is set up for that to happen. But even when I lose, I rarely feel like a "Loser".

I just booked a trip to Disney World for me, the wife and our 2 kids. We have been before, and everyone has fun, but those 5 days will end up costing us nearly $4,000 in flights, rooms, tickets and food. And that's before we buy a set of Mouse Ears.

When we vacation in Las Vegas, flights cost half as much money for us. We stay at the finest resorts for fee. No charge to do the pools. Secret Gardens at Mirage, free. Shark Reef, free. High Roller, free. All of our family day time entertain is comped. All of our food is covered by resort credits. I'll usually spend my players club points in the gift shop for kids junk. And the casinos usually pick us up and drop us off from the airport. And I haven't booked a stay in town in God knows how long without at least $500-$800 in Free Play.

I'll risk $1K each night on the slots. Some of that comes from my recycled Free Play, so not out of pocket. Some trips I win, and I get all this stuff for free. Some trips I might lose half of my money and rarely have I ever gone belly up. But the comps are always there for me.

For the same 5 days in Vegas, I might drop $2K - $3K in the casino. But the rest of my vacation was covered. And my next vacation? That's comped as well there. Still half the price of Disney. And about equal to what we would pay for a week in Myrtle Beach. But a week at Myrtle Beach comes with zero chance of breaking even or winning.

Am I still a "Loser" when I lose? Thoughts?
I have same thought. Went to Disney, universal, see world in February with family. Spent almost 7k. Mefiocare restaurants, everything overpriced. Went to Vegas last Christmas with family. Nice rooms, shows, shark reef, mirage garden, limo to/from airport, Michelin star restaurants, amazing buffets, helicopter tour to Grand canyon and much more. Two siutes connected. 7k total on gambling, tips etc. Had 3k comped. So 4k for much nicer experience hard to beat. My friends can't understand the math, but I can't justify Disney vacation with only 3% back from credit card rewards ($300). I can't believe the huge lines, low quality of food, very basic rooms in Disney, and we went during low crowds season. My kids actually enjoyed Vegas more. David Copperfield, Terry fator, o and love shows blew them away. I can't agree more with you, definitely not a loser. Because of our play in Vegas we got free 7 day cruise with only $800 in fees for two ocean view rooms for 4 people.

I travel extensively for work. I stay for free at casinos every week, across numerous states. The rooms and the facilities are terrific. A number of casinos have top notch golf courses that I can play. The food comps are great, too.

I have only been recently feeling like a "loser". It stems from the fact that the slots are just sucking 2-300 in the matter of 20-30 min these days. I used to get crazy playing time and hit some nice jackpots on occasion, which SHOULD happen when you are playing 6-8$ a spin on 1c slots. Now it is just suck the wallet dry and head home. When it feels like you do not have a chance, your feelings change.

Yes they do... If you're playing $6+ a pull you may have better luck playing $1 & $5 reels than 1 cent videos...
I usually do a mix and play a little bit of everything and quite often the boring reels have bailed me out
    Good Luck!!
