No real “Hail Marys” in the casinos in 22 years, unfortunately. The good trips saw me winning early. The closest was being down to my last three spins in Dragon’s Temple 3D after 2 hours of slots and then going from $1.20 to $143 by getting line hits and a 170x bonus. Left immediately. Sadly, that was my best casino trip of 2016 with $93 profit.

Back in the early 90's took a trip to AC. Played $5 slots for the first time. Hit $5000 on my first machine of the trip. I didn't realize what I hit, I had to look in a little box/screen on the machine that said 1000 credits. The machine was named Crazy something, I can't remember, but that was some thrill! By the end of the 3rd day I gave it all back plus almost all of my $3500 bankroll. Checked out of my room and put my last $200 in a $10 Blazing Sevens. Third spin in hit the Jackpot for $15,000. They made me play the win off the screen. Cashed out the remaining $80 and left for the airport with $15,080. This happened at Caesars Palace. They took me back in a room in the high limit area and paid me in cash. They told me they couldn't accept a tip. I never even thought of getting a check. I'm sure they thought I would be putting some of that cash back in, but I was quickly off to the airport. That trip is what got me hooked on slots. I never had to pay for anything in AC after that I was comped for everything (RFB and airfare). Took many trips to AC in the 1990's and always had fun and plenty of action. I wish video slots were never invented!

It was 2014 and a week before Margaritaville Biloxi closed its doors. I was playing quarter full pay JOB and it was our third day in Biloxi. I was down $800 of my $1000 trip bankroll and still had a day to go. My wife was down $900 of her $1000 bankroll. I hit the royal for $1000 and since the casino was closing that week it was a handpay because the help had to get the money together to pay me since they were already in the process of closing the books. I gave the girls who brought my money $20 each and gave my wife $400 so she would have enough for the fourth day and not be depressed like she gets when she loses her bankroll before the stay is up. That fourth day we both broke even so we at least brought some of our bankroll home which is a lot better than the alternative.

    Helen,
Thanks. That was an exciting win. I tried to get back on the same machine later but it was taken. I will play it again.
My brother-in-law went to Grand Casino in Shawnee, Okla not to long ago and hit for over $3300 on a Quick hits machine.

I've been playing the slots since the early 80's so it's difficult to remember this.. Recently though, I had $15 free play and downloaded that plus my own $20
In a magic pearl lightening link. I don't often play these since I've found they have long dry spells.
I set a very strict weekly gambling budget for myself and I was already done for the week and it was only Tuesday.. I played 50 cents and just a few spins in the major dropped and I held my breath as the "numbers" dropped. It was$826 and change. I could not believe it..I played 5 more spins ( I always do after a big win), and got the free games.. That didn't pay much.. Cashed out and ran( technically walked slowly with my walker but whatever!😀)

This past Friday - at Mt Pleasant Soaring Eagle. Was there with a bunch of friends, and had hotel reservations at the casino. We had all gotten coupons from a festival that Soaring Eagle was a sponsor for and you could turn in a coupon for $25 in free play. Along with my normal $25, that was a decent amount. Then about 3 days before us going out, I randomly got a post card from them for ANOTHER $25. $75 in free play, free room / dinner? Nice!

Of course's the BF's "random" post card that week was for $100 so he had like a total of $175. ANYWAY... had a nice-ish dinner and went to gamble. UGH. Started off good on Betty White, but didn't want to stick around for the mini or major, even though they were close to hitting. Wandered around, up and down a bit. Then the spiral happened. Then the disaster happened. Before I know it, I'm down $700 PLUS my free play is spent! .

I had about $150 left though I didn't want to really play it... I decide to stick $100 into this new-ish Dragon type game that I just can never seem to bonus on or hit anything - it's one of ones where the top bet is 8.80 (NOT the 88 fortunes or any of the near clones though). I place my bets at 2.64 About 5 min in i'm down 25 ish and finally hit the bonus games. And it's the Super games too - wind up hitting a jackpot of $1,400+! WOO HOO. Went around for another couple of hours with the friends. Gave the BF $200 to spend and maybe spent another $200. Very happy escape!
