Anyone repeat the TR offer to upgrade MGM Gold to Platinum

MGM Gold here. Last year I went to Bally's in AC and used the status match to Platinum. It worked all year and while I occasionally play in TR casinos, not enough to get Platinum.

I noticed in Harrah's AC they still post the sign they will status match an active MLife Gold.

Has anyone done this in back to back years and what's your experience with it?

I also would like to hear from anyone with experience with this.
I got a tier match for the TR card from the M Life card for which I got a tier match from there tier match program with their Royal Caribbean partnership. I have been able to milk both cards so far this year but the TR card does rollover in January of 2019 while the M Life card is good until September of 2019. So, would be curious if the TR match can be matched again or is there a mechanism to prevent freeloaders like me from jumping from one match program to the other. BTW the status with Royal Caribbean is permanent and does not expire. Also, as my ID would suggest my gambling $'s would never get me to either card level on my own without the match from Royal Caribbean to the M life card.

Talked to a Total Rewards rep and their match offer is "once per lifetime".

On their web site promoting the tier match in just states that anyone that was tier matched in 2017 is not eligible for the match in 2018 did not notice a lifetime limit of doing this once. Oh well, it was/is good while it lasts.

I started the thread and can help with what happened. Yes, you can repeat - but it's best to NOT go to the same TR casino where you did it once before. I matched MGM/Platinum at Bally's/AC, went back there almost 2 years later and they said; "No". In the middle of the "Comp Match" for Ocean/AC and HardRock/AC, I stopped in Harrah's. They matched, no questions asked. They even mentioned you could "match" at any TR property in Vegas as long as you hadn't done it once before at that specific property.

Now, that could change, but it can work.

Thanks for the follow up. This year I did the TR match at Harrah's in PA and will give it a shot at a TR property in AC when they make the offer for 2019.

Interesting. The first time I did the status match was at Paris LV and the recent time I mentioned in my post was at Planet Hollywood. I wonder if it was just someone that didn't thoroughly check like the rep that assisted me did.
