I can't wait for this one either... I've often pictured a slot machine with this theme in my head... and somehow it's now no longer my "pure imagination"... I sure hope it's fun, though how could it not be?

I'm confused about something. Wasn't there something somewhere that said that slots cannot get into the "kid" market? Like for instance, IGT made a SouthPark game a long time ago and if I remember correctly it was pulled or something happened because of the juvenile theme. Not that SP is juvenile because it is definitely an adult cartoon. And now there is Spiderman. Am I imaging something about this?

No you aren't. And South Park was the exact slot that was rejected. Obviously things have changed since then. I would think "The Wizard of Oz" would have had a hard time with approval. It might be an old movie, but to me it's still targeted towards a under-21 audience.

With that said - I'm ready for a Family Guy slot RIGHT NOW!

Thank you for confirming my sanity...LOL Joey and I were just talking about this and he mentioned that a while back WMS had responded once that they couldn't do a classic super hero theme for that very reason, yet there is Spiderman now and of course Super Team even though that is their own brand. I am still confused and you're right things must have changed!

This is one of my favorate scenes!
Great movie! Johny Depp creeped me out in the remake. I was so disappointed in it. Nothing like the original. I'm sure the game will be fun

    Oompa Loompas and Slotspert.jpg
above photo of Slotspert with his Ooompa Loompas at the 2012 G2E...

I'm back from the G2E and had the opportunity to play the new Willy Wonka machine on demo mode for about 20 minutes experiencing all the bonus rounds several times... It was an exciting slot machine with that left-over "last song in your head" from all the classic hits that are played during the game. To be honest, the last time such a theme left me in that state was the original WOZ where I would hum or whistle the song tunes for the entire day after playing that machine. I would have to say that the bonus round frequency is typical of all the recent "royalty" theme slots that have emerged... however the "vulture" element on this game is that there is an opportunity to get the "Golden Ticket" from a bunch of animated chocolate bars at the end of the bonus round. Its $5000 and it looks to be a "must hit" by the 10,000th animated bar so you can be sure some heavy-duty play "advantage slot" play as that number gets closer to the target. This fact was also shown on the game itself. The Oompa Loompa expanding reels bonus is fantastic and random with a more frequent occurrence then the traditional bonus rounds. My only opinion in this game is that they should NOT give up another 1-3% return with the mega-progressive link and have these as stand alone games only (have to head to Vancouver for that to happen!). This game is pure entertainment, so the longer the bankroll, the better. My REAL WISH is that they will bring back the $2 max bet slot that still gives you a chance at the mega-progressive. Its sad to see that bets of $4 or more (I have even seen $7+ max bet at some NA's to qualify for the WMS mega-progressives) on a penny slot is the only way to have even that slim chance at the mega-progressive. In Vegas, the only sole mega-progressive Top Gun slot left at $2 max bet mega-progressive chance is at the Venetian. They finally got the BEST rocking chair with real sound and movement effects that mimics the sensation of actually being on the Chocolate River (rocking back and forth)... You can control the volume and chair movement and it was a "roller coaster" feel at the highest setting... I believe this game is still being fine-tuned, so its hard to be sure what will ultimately hit the slot floor. The "buzz" on the G2E floor was that WMS has a hit and given the other "new" stuff I saw, I would certainly agree with that consensus... Slotspert

Thanks Slotspert sounds like my kind of machine and I'm so looking forward to playing it.

Did WMS give any indication of when we might start seeing it hit the slot floors?

I think they are still in the fine-tuning stage but with this excitment about this theme, I think you will see it very soon. My REAL WISH is that they will bring back the $2 max bet slot that still gives you a chance at the mega-progressive.
