    Hi Wawava:

Back when the PICK EM bonus was popular ... players would always win something. Once the FREE SPINS became so popular, it is just like winning FREE TICKETS ... you did win something, FREE TICKETS -- now, whether the FREE TICKETS, or FREE SPINS win anything is up to luck.

News that might please you ... WMS had a whole line of games (at the G2E) which ensure players never get a zero in the bonus. They do it in a clever way. I'll see if I can pull some video on it somewhere.

It is funny because only a $10 symbol pays $10 in the bonus box or else nothing and they have to use a symbol called "bonus gift" which implies winning something.
    That's all folks!

I bouhgt a $5 scratch off the other day and had 5 winning numbers. I uncovered each prize separately and the winning total.....a lousy $10.
I bet you I can stop gambling!

Hillarious....yep the CA lottery has Holiday Scratchers (Instants) too. They are very lousy. Got some last year for friends and family. No one won. Absolutely nada..

That sucks!!! I would be annoyed too! How can you tell from the code?

There is a 3 letter system on scratch cards which is used by retailers to double check the winner. For example on the card, you will see F, I and V when you win five dollars and F, I and F would be fifty. The code on this ticket was F I Y which makes no sense to a dollar amount.
    That's all folks!

The code isn't foolproof though. There are some weird ones that don't make up the amount you're winning. About ten years ago, I worked with a pizza shop that sold NYS lottery scratch-offs. And I remember seeing some odd ones. You don't need that code though to double check. You actually need the 4 digit number usually at the bottom of the scratch-off that no one ever scratches off. So you end up having to do that. You just scan the bar code on the lottery machine and then punch in those 4 numbers.

If it spells F - I - V, but isn't on the machine as a winner, a retailer can't redeem it for you. You have to take it up with the state.

Ponz, I know it's not foolproof, but it's just something I look for. Sure so many wins I have never seen such as $500 or higher, so I wouldn't even know what the abbreviations might be for them.
    That's all folks!
