Hi Patricia, thanks for the feedback. I think this is an experience that I have to learn, don't go looking for a host , let them come to you. I think that's my take home lesson and obviously I didn't get noticed with my play to have one. My misconception is that if I find a good host he or she can help me out with the offers I've been getting , and I mostly just wanted to have my standard room offer upgraded to a bigger room in exchange for no food and beverage comp and also a host can help me out if there are minor issues with getting rooms for available dates

When I mentioned the better offer at aria I was just getting a feel for how generous his offers would be and if he's flexible but I think he took it the wrong way . Anyhow I'm staying away from hosts. Like u said they are not the right fit for me.

aorry you had a bad eperiance. i have only dealt with the same one at Cp the last 5 years.I tend to think a host can do more for you when prepping your next trip vs doing much on the spot? probably more of a case where when you have a history they can look at then they can help you more, especially in advance? again, very sorry

Sorry this happened to you. Maybe he was having a bad day, but that isn't your problem.

I had something like that happen to me at a local casino, the one closest to my home. I had reached one of their higher statuses there a few years ago- had over 100,000 in coin-in for the year so far, and the player rewards counter gave me my new card and called a host to talk to me. He gave me the rundown of all of the new benefits I would get, etc. i didn't ask for anything then, but the following week I asked for a $10 food comp from the desk and they called the same host over. He told me that with my little play i was crazy to ask for anything and went on about how customers "abuse their system". It was embarrassing.

I since let my play drop there to an absolute minimum and moved it to another competing group of casinos, a little further drive but for my $100K plus coin-in for the year I have hosts calling me to comp steak dinners, way more freeplay, better VP paytables, etc. It was invigorating to not look back. Their $10 mistake cost them thousands in business from me.

So anyway, just move your business to whoever appreciates you. A $5k loss even in Vegas is worth something to these companies, and you'll be treated well somewhere, even if its another MGM like Aria.

Don't worry about it, you're not a downer. We are all here to support & help each other out for any casino related questions & problems. I have zero host experience so I'm also learning from the responses here. Any more question, just ask away. Don't be shy.
