Every machine I played that night won. Id win $300, $400, $500 and so and move on. Rinse and repeat.

Worst I ever done was on $100 WOF. I bought a thousand with me. Burned through that. Hit up the ATM for another thousand and dinked that without hitting anything. Was convinced the machine would pay so I took out a $2K marker. Bad idea. Ended up with a $10K marker after 2 hours and biggest hit was $500 once. I did not leave my house for a week. The desire to hit a freaking $1200 handpay cost me 10 times as much in one day.
only one thing to say about this . . . .ouch !!!

I think part of the reason is Twin Rivers. I have had nothing but losing trips there including last Saturday. I think it has the worst odds. H only will go there most times so I am stuck. He plays vp low roll so it is just recreation for him. The only "hit" I had was 40 bucks on a 25 cent vp. I find the slots big losers. Vp has bad pay tables. They keep adding more and more new machines all multi line videos. Mostly pennies with min and max jackpots. The place is filthy. Lousy comps and lousy service with long slow lines at cashiers and broken redemption machines making for even longer waits.

The bigger win multiples don't happen very frequently, so you'll probably need a LOT of spins to hit them - which usually means betting somewhat smaller.

I think the reason some of us are posting a lot of wins is that we go frequently, play for several hours, and bring a high BR relative to the bet size. I used to try to bring 600x my average bet when I was seriously low-rolling, but now that I'm betting higher, it's more like 400x. And by higher I mean mostly in the $1-3 range. I wouldn't touch a $100 machine in a million years. When I go, I want to be able to afford a crazy amount of spins over about a 5-7 hour period playing China Shores-type games.

Hi slotslut! (love your screen name lol) I'm very sorry the slots haven't been giving you the level of play that you should be getting @ $20+ per spin...
But to answer your question i say "No" there is nothing wrong with You that a little money mgmt & adjusting your goals couldn't fix...
Everyone who plays slots long enough loses, afterall it takes a mind boggling amount of money to run a casino, and obviously they are certainly not a non profit business.
When you see all the wins posted in here just remember very few of us post losses, losses are not exciting and very quickly want to be forgotten about...
I'm thinking maybe just maybe it's time to take a break... And give your self a chance to think about what you want to accomplish on a casino visit, either entertainment or up the risk to win a lot of money... Of course we would all love to have both but as you know it dosen't work out that way often enough...
BTW, I live in the Boston area and my local is Twin River, i am there at least one night a week and overall i've done good there, no complaints. Meaning you do not need to drive all the way to NJ to win at the slots, Although i do love Atlantic City, it's a lotta fun!!
Wishing You the Very Best of Luck!!! !
    Here with You! since 9/29/09

She was even playing the $500 machine. Anyway I got $300 more out of the ATM and was heading towards the machine. Lady cut me off and slipped in a TITO for $500. On her first spin - $30,000 ! I was devastated. To make it worse, the lady did not even bat an eye!
There are always many many more ways to come close, almost win, would have won, than to actually win. It's a lot further away than we think. Say just keno, play 12 and 14. For 12, 1,2,3,11,13,21,22, 23 and for 14, 3,4,5,13,15,23,24,25 almost win every draw when any of those hit. It's 8 times easier to almost hit than hit. Being close isn't as hard as it looks and in the casino it gets even easier with all the choices we make.
    That's all folks!

If a casino has tight slots and you cant win (and there are very few winners overall)..don't gamble there. It is worth it to drive somewhere else( reread CasinomanCT's post). The Borgata was my wife and mine's favorite and we did well there. The rest of Atlantic City we could care less because we couldnt win consistently. I live in Kansas now,29 miles away from a new casino and we by pass it eveytime to play In Oklahoma. Why? the slots are tight in Kansas, looser in Oklahoma, which brings me to the next point. 2. We come into a new casino at night and spend very little. I "scout out the slots" to see which may be loose or tight, by watching who is playing and hitting. 3. We go the next moring and only play the "scouted " machines and do well! 3. Day or night, if very few people are playing in a given area the slots are probably too tight...avoid them, especially if it is crowded and no one is in that area. Sorry I was a little wordy, but I hope that helps!
this post is meant as a joke correct? "scouting loose or tight slots"?
i consider myself a big "player" NOT a big "gambler"...

op i don't know about the rest of your play but 1k bankroll for $40 a spin is simply not enough. 25 spins and broke is absolutely normal. if this is not your normal play don't stick a grand in a slot and bang 40 bucks a pop just to "hit a hand pay". toss that 1k through some dollar slots or some $5 playing one or two credits. you'll hit eventually and maximize your bankroll a little bit...

    First a few observations….
Most who post winning pictures of HPs here – were playing for several hours (occasionally, someone will say I got this on my first spin … orin X spins) but the vast majority make no mention of how long they played before they hit.
You are by no means the only member who has never had a HP.Just glance through the winning tales sectionand count the number of post titled “My First HP” or something to that affect.
Next, why is a HP so special to you? A HP means you won over 1200 (I believe thatis the current cap) and the casino has to grab some info. from you to rat youout to the IRS. Personally, I much rather win several $1000 or $500 or whatever amount wins and walk out with that money with no one knowing anything about it.
When I received my first HP (for 7200) it was exciting for the first couple minutes; but turned into quite a headache, having to prove who I was; getting all the forms signed just to get the money. So how did it happen for me? Don’t know about everyone else, but I seem to go through streaks of luck and streaks of no luck. During the “no luck” (and this seems to be it the vast amount of time) no matter what I do; cannot seem to hit even small wins … so I learned to take a break or call it quits depending if I am in Vegasor at a local. During the few lucky streaks I have had – It seems I winning something every couple of spins. I was in a lucky streak and just won $200plus on a penny machine… I cashed out and started to head back to the room; passed the HL area and decided to try a few spins – two spins later I looking at my first HP.
I did not chase the HP; I really was not even thinking of trying to get a HP.All, I knew was that I seemed to be in a lucky streak and decided to play a five dollar machine. Was surprised and happy for a while; untilthe questions started….
So I would advise you to stop seeking the HP …. And just try to have a good time spinning.

I would bet some of my house money that you lose quite a bit on slots. NO the post was no joke! Keep playing your "favorite tight machines." I dont care what the name of the machine is .I just care if it is going to give me a chance or not. If you want to lose your whole bankroll in one or two machines, so be it. If you get the greed put of the way, "scouting" is easy. You are not obsessd to get to the casino to give your money away. Sounds like the joke is on you!
