    Am I doing something wrong?

Been lurking here for a while. Thought I would finally make a post because something has been bothering me, and I want to know if I am doing something wrong, or if I am just really unlucky. I am a unique case. Not a minimum bettor. I play full lines every time ranging from $0.20 a bet to $20 a bet to even the occasional $100 spins on WOF. I have NEVER won more than $500 on a slot in the 5 years I have been playing, and I have easily sunk about $50K into them!! Just last week I went to Foxwoods determined to get that elusive handpay. Took $1000 and went to $1 Davinci Diamonds (my favorite slot) and played $40 a spin. I was broke in 5 minutes best hit being $40 break even twice. 2 days ago I went to Twin River and played Bier Haus max bet $2.50 / spin. Hit a 60 free spin bonus with 2 locked wilds. Thought this is it, my first handpay. Nope! Bonus only paid $160!!! I see everyone winning here and having great bonuses I just don't know what is wrong with me???

First do you mean you have never left the casino ahead $500 or you have never hit anything for more than $500? Something doesn't seem right if it's the second case. Machine selection seems to be the most obvious possible reason. Either the machine just can't pay $500 on max and/or too much volatility and/or overbetting your bank roll such as on the Davinci machine. Not having a handpay for $50000 can happen depending how and what you play. So what do we call you? I'm too shy to repeat it here. Maybe you come to a meet and greet and everyone can just show you ideas to play.PS Twin River might be part of the problem just recognizing it has a bad reputation from some.
    That's all folks!

There is nothing wrong, just not your day when you hit the slots. We are all excited to share good spin streaks, not necessarily that excited to share the beatings and the losses.

I have never come home a winner (=more BR than when I left), break even a few times and a few times close, but mostly in negative territory.

Don't chase it, don't sweat it. If it's no longer fun or entertainment, then take a break. Good luck

I can only give you our experience and you can judge from there. Mrs. CasinomanCT and I used to play at Mohegan and Foxwoods with some Twin River sprinkled in. We were Sagamore's at Mohegan and King level at Foxwoods but have since quit both. We play exclusively in AC now at Borgata, we have found that our money goes a lot further there. After a while the NA casinos in CT and Twin River were so tight it wasn't even fun anymore. We have had our share of handpays in CT but 99% of the time we are cleaned out in an hour....high rolling or low rolling...doesn't matter. I would highly suggest driving the extra few hours to AC and play at one of their casinos....Borgata is our favorite for many reasons. I know it's not convenient but you will enjoy your slotting much more. There's nothing wrong with you, there is everything wrong with NA casinos in CT.

5 years? How many times per year? Have you won $500 on a $100 bet or some on 40 cent bets? Mayne you've done ok some nights low rolling and then go to 20$ slots and lose. Have to be extremely lucky to parlay with a small bankroll on high limits. Imo.

Here is what I do to better my odds and my wife and I have been playing with house money for years! 1. If a casino has tight slots and you cant win (and there are very few winners overall)..don't gamble there. It is worth it to drive somewhere else( reread CasinomanCT's post). The Borgata was my wife and mine's favorite and we did well there. The rest of Atlantic City we could care less because we couldnt win consistently. I live in Kansas now,29 miles away from a new casino and we by pass it eveytime to play In Oklahoma. Why? the slots are tight in Kansas, looser in Oklahoma, which brings me to the next point. 2. We come into a new casino at night and spend very little. I "scout out the slots" to see which may be loose or tight, by watching who is playing and hitting. 3. We go the next moring and only play the "scouted " machines and do well! 3. Day or night, if very few people are playing in a given area the slots are probably too tight...avoid them, especially if it is crowded and no one is in that area. Sorry I was a little wordy, but I hope that helps!

My biggest win is $500 on line hits maybe 10 or so times. Nothing even a penny over $500 ever though, including bonuses. Best I ever done was ran $50 up to $3600 in an 18 hour binge at Foxwoods. Every machine I played that night won. Id win $300, $400, $500 and so and move on. Rinse and repeat.

Worst I ever done was on $100 WOF. I bought a thousand with me. Burned through that. Hit up the ATM for another thousand and dinked that without hitting anything. Was convinced the machine would pay so I took out a $2K marker. Bad idea. Ended up with a $10K marker after 2 hours and biggest hit was $500 once. I did not leave my house for a week. The desire to hit a freaking $1200 handpay cost me 10 times as much in one day.

About 2 years ago I was on vacation in Florida at Hard Rock Hollywood. I was playing mostly penny slots but walked over to high limit to play a few spins on WOF. Lost both spins and stepped away from machine. There was a lady there playing the entire bank and lighting up the room with hand pays. She had 2 attendants cater to her alone. She was even playing the $500 machine. Anyway I got $300 more out of the ATM and was heading towards the machine. Lady cut me off and slipped in a TITO for $500. On her first spin - $30,000 ! I was devastated. To make it worse, the lady did not even bat an eye!

Maybe you'll be blessed one day to make it all worth it. You've had some really good streaks though going $50-3000 or what not. Thing is the machines don't distribute the big wins fairly and pay more small wins instead to encourage gambling. Just don't care and maybe it will happen when the time is right. Don't forget if you let the donkey have the carrot, he stops walking. It really should have happened so I feel bad for you. Cashman Tonight. Look for any major over $500 and bet $.30, $.60 and you'll get it eventually. Only play those machines when the major is higher than $500 and don't play anything else in the casino. I would go Sundays around 5am for the best chance to find one up there. If you see two, play two.
